Multi-talented singer-songwriter James Arthur has reached an incredible new milestone with his hit single ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.
The artist has been awarded a disc after the song garnered over a billion streams on Spotify. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ is only the 18th song in history to achieve this feat.
James is one of 10 artists to reach a billion streams on Spotify, joining the likes of Ed Sheeran, Drake, The Chainsmokers, Camila Cabello, and Dua Lipa.
Speaking about this incredible achievement, James said: “I’m really proud that this song keeps growing and growing. 2019 is going to be a busy year for me – there will be more music and a tour. I can’t wait for everyone to hear what I’ve been working on.”
‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ was the lead single from James’ second studio album Back From The Edge. The track went to number one in countries including the UK, New Zealand, and Australia, whilst it also peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Since its release in September 2016, the track has been certified 3x Platinum in the UK and USA, 5x Platinum in Canada, 7x Platinum in Sweden, and 9x Platinum in Australia.
Whilst James is still reaching incredible new heights with ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’, he is also achieving great things with his latest material. His most recent solo single ‘Empty Space’ has just been BRIT certified Silver.
