After 2 years on the hit BBC talent show, the Kaiser Chiefs front-man has announced that series 5 of The Voice will be his last.

This news comes just days after it was announced that The Voice would no longer be broadcasting on the BBC and all bets are on ITV poaching the show. The Voice also controversially said goodbye to Sir Tom Jones earlier this year due to wanting to attract a new, younger audience, something the Welsh crooner wasn’t attracting.

Whilst I think the changing of channels and loss of Sir Tom will be a complete disaster, I am also deeply saddened to see my favourite coach go.

Team Ricky’s Stevie McCrorie won the competition at the beginning of the year, meaning Wilson is currently the reigning champion. Although, it can only be hoped that his exit from the show means he can focus on finishing the Kaiser Chiefs sixth album which will hopefully be released next year.

It’s safe to say we’re going to miss you, Ricky!

The Voice returns to BBC 1 in the new year with coaches Will.I.Am, Ricky Wilson, Boy George and Paloma Faith taking to the iconic spinning chairs and the Kaiser Chiefs new record is set to be released spring 2016.
